Write about this photograph

We talked about the life and times of the photojournalist and how new technology helped to shape the ways in which people experience war, turbulent times, political unrest and government oppression and the means by which people will strive to change their situations. Who is the man in the photograph ? Where is he from ? What is going on ? Why ?

the man in the photograph is Thích Quảng Đức. He is a buddhist monk who is practing self-immolation as a sign of protest.

im in shock and awe as to how far he went to risk his life to get a his message across to people. its sad that he died in this kind of matter.

The man is a well respected buddhist monk. He is burning himself in protest. It is said he did not make a noise or move until he was fully burned. The fire could be a symbol of destruction. To him this could mean both the destruction of himself, and the hope that the curent government and all of the unrest in his area would be destroyed as well.

This man is Thích Quảng Đức adn he is a buddhist priest that burned himself alive to prove a point against war. He wanted peace. This was in Vietnam. This picture is freaky yet awesome at the same time.

The man in the photograph is a buddhist priest named Thích Quảng Đức. He burned himself alive withouth uttering a single sound as a sign of protest against the vietnam war. This would be considered our version of a miracle to the rest of the buddhist people.

this monk was obviosuly making a statement because if it was an accident he would be running around. and if you look closly you can see that he isnt yelling or isnt showing any feelings towards the pain he is experienceing
